At New York’s Central Park Zoo, a lion (Stiller), a zebra (Rock), a giraffe (Schwimmer), and a hippo (Smith) are best friends and stars of the show. | Plot Summary: |
Set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990’s Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) - an ex Mercenary from Zimbabwe - and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) - a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories as different as any can be, until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond that can transform their lives. | Plot Summary: |
Former LAPD cop, Dakota Varley (played by UFC champion Bas Rutten), enters a power boat race seeking the prize of $250,000, but immediately discovers, first hand, that this race’s risk matches the prize: one racer is killed, 3 others seriously injured in multiple action-packed crashes and explosions. Varley prevails. Varley tries to leave the lake and collect his prize money but is drugged and kidnapped by Dawson (portrayed by Michael Rooker) and thrown into a different world: a world where survivl means everything and no-one follows the rules. Varley awakens on an island, strapped to pole, like a pig being carried to a barbeque. We also learn, in bits and pieces, that each contestant has been brought to the game by a “Player.” Wealthy men and women who have each selected of one of the Contestants. Among these men are Carlos Alvarez, Venezuelan Drug Lord; U.S. Army General Ellison; and Ochiro Sumanni, a Japanese Gang Boss. All the while, we follow the Contestants as they struggle to survive the attacks not by of the hunters, but also each other. | Plot Summary: |
In a mountainous South American country, drug-dealing rebels kidnap Peter Bowman, a US engineer who works for an oil company’s subsidiary. The company calls in a negotiator, Terry Thorne, an Aussie ex-soldier based in London. When the subsidiary goes bankrupt, the oil company washes its hands of the matter and pulls Thorne. Bowman’s wife Alice begs him to stay. American college student Alex (Josh Duhamel), his younger teenage sister Bea (Olivia Wilde) along with their close friend Amy (Beau Garrett) are backpacking through Brazil. They meet up with similar companions: wild and crazy British mates Finn (Desmons Askew) and Liam (Max Brown), together with Australian traveler Pru (Melissa George), on a cross country bus. They barely survive after it crashes off a cliff. Further mishaps occur due to becoming stranded on a beach by so-called “friendly locals”, some of whom have deprived them of all their processions! Searching for any sympathetic police, they meet familiar face Kiko (Agels Steib), who offers to lead them to sanctuary that being a house deep in the jungle. But upon finally reaching this supposed safe haven Amy soon vanishes, and it is only then that they discover (way too late) that their “saviors” offering them shelter are operators of a black market specializing in running human organs, who are seeking unwilling foreign donors (foreign tourist) to benefit their unfortunate countrymen. In their captors’ eyes, foreigners have come into Brazil, raping their precious lands of its rubber, sugar, gold—even using its people as throwaway sexual playthings. Ryan (Greg Cipes) is a lion who wants to go to the wild, where his dad (Samson, voiced by Keifer Sutherland) once lived. When he gets himself shipped to Africa, his zoo friends (and Samson) work together to bring him back. When they get to Africa, however, the animals find themselves in a pile of danger. They have to fight an evil wildebeest called Kazar (William Shatner). But Kazar’s safe compared to the other danger on the island- a volcano that’s on the edge of eruption.
